Jazz Band

I have been a part of the Hackett jazz band every year since freshman year. I have gained a lot of confidence in performing, improvisation skills, and Saxophone skills due to this program.

Jazz Festival Solo - 2023

I was the second chair of Saxophone my junior year but my first chair planned a trip over to the state jazz performance. My director was worried because there would be no one to lead the section. I stepped up and told him I could learn the first part of all three songs including one solo. This was the same time as the Musical "Annie". With more time I could have prepared better for my solo, however, I was able to play the first Saxophone part at State Jazz where we earned a 2, the second-best rating. Below is my solo.
